WHAT'S IN A NAME
.adhikya. THE STORY
adhikya [ a h d i : k kee yuh]
Living in Western Culture, our lives are a constant series of days, weeks, months and years centered around go, go, go! We seldom find the time, nor make it a priority, to balance our frenetic momentum with our own individual mindfulness practices. A daily conscious practice of breathing and focusing our awareness on the present moment is an integral part of living a happy and fulfilling life! The benefits of having a regular practice are infinite, including: boosting our immune systems, increasing positive emotions, reducing stress, fighting depression, improving focus, fostering compassion and altruism, enhancing relationships, encouraging a healthier lifestyle, increasing acceptance and enhancing creativity.
.adhikya. seeks to facilitate balance in our lives; both for personal wellness and for global peace, love and unity through elevated consciousness.
A mindset of abundance does not simply refer to money, it causes feelings of joy, love and optimism. Abundance relates to the state of being consciously connected to our source energy, empowerment and alignment with our soul. A belief that there is more than enough in the world, along with the understanding that you are more than enough and that you have everything you need to be successful.
.adhikya. seeks to create a mindset of abundance in our lives , creating more empowerment and love and less scarcity and unhealthy competition.
While this word can have negative connotations, it make's sense here, a sort of contradiction. A product is not needed to meditate or do yoga. A high end prop line can seem excessive from a philosophical point of view…
We appreciate and love being in our conscious space and believe that the radiance and beauty of our practice should be reflected back to us during our sacred rituals.
.adhikya.’s products seek to mirror the grace of our practices and to spark conversations - dialogues on personal ceremonies, questions of higher purpose, exchanges on the mind and breath connection.

FOUNDER, JESSICA ABBOTT
Jessica grew up on the Santa Monica boardwalk, raised by young and liberal flower children. Her nonconformist upbringing and innate eye for fashion quickly set the foundation for her balanced free spirited, yet luxury aesthetic. She considered fashion school, but opted instead for a scholarship to UC Berkeley. After graduation and a first taxing job in a talent agency, dissatisfied, Jessica pondered again design school or yoga teacher training. She then attended Otis College for Design and by age 25 was living her version of the American Dream, running lucrative companies as a COO. She had a successful 12 year run in Fashion, Tequila and Luxury goods.
In spite of her material accomplishments, Jessica wasn’t truly fulfilled and felt inauthentic. Working long hours, in very fast paced environments, with little time to herself, she felt unbalanced and void of her true purpose. While she was passionate about her career, her heart longed for a way to create more peace and love in the world.
Since her late teens, she has spent her free time doing Yoga and Meditation as often as she can, to counterbalance the stress of her western life. In 2015 she began working with a life coach and ascended on a deep path of spiritual and personal introspection. Later in the year, Jessica finally did her yoga teacher training. This led to a devotional sabbatical in Rishikesh, India, the yoga center of the world. Her heart opened! Delving into the roots and culture of India and yoga, she was wholly inspired by the simple, yet abundantly happy and loving culture that she encountered.
Upon returning to the states, the idea of .adhikya . came to her during her meditations. She was seeking to unify the perfect balance between her western aesthetic and her beloved eastern practices. Jessica’s intent is to encourage consciousness in our hectic lives by creating products that we are inspired to practice with. She’s committed to advancing mindfulness on an individual level; she believes personal healing and transformation will in turn raise global consciousness, elevating our society to embrace love and eliminate fear, for the ultimate manifestation of world human rights and peace.
